State-of-the-Art STEAM Lab
The Candace Leyton Learning Lab is Wolftrap Elementary School’s state-of-the-art STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) lab. It was donated by a former student in honor of his math teacher, Ms. Candace Leyton.
Walking Wednesdays
Every week Wolftrap Elementary School has Walking Wednesdays, when families stroll to school and students sign in for fun rewards — like colorful charms and the coveted Golden Sneaker! It's a chance to connect with neighbors, get some fresh air, and build a stronger school community. Plus, there's coffee!
Staff Spotlight
Wolftrap Elementary School’s dedicated staff have been recognized as finalists in the Fairfax County Honors awards.
Celebrating Family and Culture
During World Heritage Night, families share their important cultural and home traditions with food and performances. We also have a Parent Panel that shares their experiences with school staff so that our teachers are prepared to welcome families each year.
New Outdoor Spaces
Wolftrap Elementary School has a beautiful Butterfly Garden and our new playground features a Buddy Bench to help build positive social connections for students.
Wolftrap 5K and Fun Run and More!
This is an annual event that draws participation from all over the area! Other PTA-sponsored community events to connect families with our school include Bingo Night, Edison Expo (science fair), Faculty Volleyball Game, Skate Night, Talent Show, Wolftrap Under the Stars Picnic, and more!
Diverse Student Activities
Our student activities include Girls on the Run and Battle of the Books, which is a reading club and competition featuring sixth graders from Wolftrap and other FCPS schools. We also have a student-produced daily TV news program.
Community Support
Our students collect food not opened in the cafeteria. This food is donated to Food for Others. Wolftrap students also partner with division schools to provide clothes and food for food banks.
